IFRS 17 statutory reporting

Programme Advisory Services on the International Financial Reporting Standard for Insurance Contracts (IFRS 17) which includes  input and guidance in core operational and technical areas. Our involvement includes services from initiation through to methodology and implementation as well as advising on core system and operational solutions. 
Technical gap analysis and project management delivery (day to day lead, stakeholder management, driving activity, key accountability) – led and delivered the IFRS 17 initiation programme for large annuity provider. This included a technical and operational gap analysis as well as stakeholder management and educational briefing sessions. Support with three year implementation plan and budgeting estimates.

Providing joint actuarial and technology consulting services including advice on setting up a data science project team consisting of data scientists, marketing, actuarial and IT specialists in order to develop insights on the persistency experience of the in-force book.

DIGITAL SOLUTIONS

Turning a New Page

Delivering an innovation lab initiative to a UK insurer analysing propensity of policyholders to lapse. Working with head of marketing and Chief Actuary to identify key policyholder behaviours and insights into wider applications of machine learning across the business. 
Digital solutions for optimising operations (technical initiative, leading design and delivery, engagement with vendors) – leading process review programmes for large insurers with a view of identifying processes suitable for automation. This was followed by an end-to-end automation delivery journey through the use of advanced RPA software. The output was a recommendation on next steps including cost/benefit analysis.

As an actuary, she is focused on developing sustainable finance and risk operating strategies and optimising key business drivers impacting organisational performance and financial accuracy, with the use of innovative technologies, such as machine learning.

She has extensive experience implementing actuarial systems; implementing and streamlining workflow processes and strengthening the financial control and financial close processes.


She provides Programme Advisory Services on the International Financial Reporting Standard for Insurance Contracts (IFRS 17) which includes input and guidance in core operational and technical areas and has recently provided similar services to a large international annuity provider.


She also advises insurers and technology providers on the use of innovative technologies including advanced data science techniques, that incorporates business domain experience.

Isaac Alfon founded Crescendo Advisors after more than 20 years in financial services, regulation and consulting.  Isaac has a track record for delivering solutions that are pragmatic and support business objectives and aspirations, whilst being consistent with regulatory requirements.  He has applied these skills in the context of risk reviews and transformations, and internal model application. 

He was Enterprise Risk Director at Bupa Group and had senior risk roles with Prudential and Aviva.  He worked on banking and insurance regulation with the FSA and HM Treasury. Isaac has a PhD in economics from University College London and is a member of the Board of the Heart of Medway Housing Association.
