Our client, a large mutual insurer in the UK, has recently embarked on a journey to using data science more effectively within the value management team.
What we have done:
We have worked out a plan for supporting the team with their strategy towards using data science and upskilling their team to achieve their objective to identify strategic initiatives for value management. Our work involved:
Identifying a current state assessment of skills gap within their team
Initiating technical training sessions with core members of the team
Developing an outline course on the use of data science for the value management team, with a view of identifying how the client could use data more effectively to support the CFO in its value management strategy.
For this client we have delivered:
Training that introduced generalised linear modelling and its use as a predictive modelling technique within insurance. The training used open source programming software.
An overview to generalised linear modelling as a predictive modelling tool used within data science
A hands-on training session looking at an example application of GLMs to actuarial data, within lapse experience analysis
